Blogging has become a major weapon in my quest for freelance writing success. It has fueled creativity and has changed my persective. I blog with a greater purpose than just sharing my thoughts and feelings or the events of the day. I blog to share what I've learned and to cast a light on topics that are not mainstream.
It is amazing where you will find a story idea. I've found some of my greatest material while having a casual conversation with a perfect stranger. The basis for my next romance novel was discovered while reading an opinion piece in The Week magazine. The next time your idea well runs dry pick up a magazine or surf the Internet, even have a seemingly meaningless conversation with a stranger. You never know from where your next story will reach out and touch you, begging to be told from your perspective.

Performance Technology Associates, Inc. (PTA) is currently seeking individuals with strong analysis and writing skills to join a project team responsible for creating extensive metadata. What is "metadata"? In this case, writing metadata amounts to reading a short policy document and writing a brief summary of what the document is about. This "data" then gets loaded into a web site (by someone else, not you) that makes it easier for users of the site to search for, and find, the document. There are thousands of these summaries that need to be written. This is a 3-6 month contract engagement. Contractors must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Local contractors are preferred. Contractors may work from home but will need to come in for an hour or two to become familiar with the project and process.
Rate
$25/hour
Requirements
* Strong English writing skills
* Ability to enter text into an MS Excel file
* Ability to send/receive files via email
* Ability to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week
Preferred background
Experience as a technical writer, content developer or similar role
